The house is called Constantia because it was designed to emulate a South African house from a pretty suburb of Capetown of the same name.

The Situation

Sited in a unique, safe, quiet and secluded private estate very near the village centre. The original purpose of the enclave was to house the crews of the large J-class yachts that sailed in the 1930’s. Exceptional for England, the homes are all flat roofed white walled Mediterranean style.

There are ample local amenities like a superette, post office, bank, beauty parlour and chemist. There are plentiful buses and taxis together with a local line train station. Other amenities are:Airport(9mls)  Seaport(11mls)  Train Station(9mls)   Supermarket, fuel, and large shops, 10mins by car.

The Location:

Hamble is a picturesque village with cobbled streets and Tudor cottages situated on the south coast of England in Hampshire, between Southampton and Portsmouth.  The Hamble River and Solent water are world renown yachting centres.  Multiple restaurants and many pubs/clubs make for a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere. From the quay is a small ferry across the river to a long waterside walk. Golf, Horse riding, and other country sports are to be found in the New Forest a historic conservation area.

Southampton, with it’s Norman walls and Roman port is about 11 miles away, Portsmouth, the home of the royal navy and a ferry base to France and the Isle of Wight, is 15 miles and Winchester, capital town of ancient Wessex is 13 miles away.

London …takes me 1hr 10mins (at the right time)

Brighton ….takes me 2hr 30mins (or, 2hrs 10min by power boat)

Oxford ……takes me 1hr 45min                                                     All by motorway

Bournemouth  …is 35mls away and for SW England (the English Rivera)

..........just continue.

The Climate:

This part of England is different; it’s very warm and sunny all year round compared to the rest of the UK. Why? We have a climate inversion caused by the South Downs behind and the Isle of Wight in front, which results in a nearly sub-tropical micro environment.
